The Nigerian High Commissioner to Australia, Ambassador Olufemi Pedro, accompanied by Minister Counselor Abba Mustapha and First Secretary Paul Emekwekwe, recently undertook a working visit to the Canberra Institute of Technology(CIT) Centre of Excellence.
The delegation toured CIT’s cutting-edge facilities, including advanced simulation labs dedicated to the repair and maintenance of electric vehicles (EVs)—a critical area in the global shift toward sustainable mobility and green technology.
This fact-finding mission provided an opportunity to inspect world-class training infrastructure and hold productive discussions on a prospective Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between CIT and Nigeria’s National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), an agency under the Federal Ministry of Education.
The proposed partnership underscores Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and building workforce capacity in emerging technologies. The High Commission remains dedicated to fostering collaborations that equip Nigerian youth with the skills required for the 21st-century economy.
