PERTH AFRICA DOWN UNDER 2026 UNDERWAY

The 2026 edition of Perth Africa Down Under (PADU), one of the leading international conferences on mining, minerals and investment, commenced today, 2 September 2026, in Perth, Western Australia.

Nigeria is strongly represented at this important global mining and investment platform, with a high-level delegation from the country’s solid minerals sector.

The Nigerian delegation is led by the Hon. Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Mr. Dele Alake, and includes senior officials and members of the Nigerian Solid Minerals Development Company (NSMDC). H.E. Ambassador Dr. Olufemi Pedro, High Commissioner of Nigeria to Australia, also led a contingent of officials from the High Commission to the conference.

The conference is further being attended by distinguished members of the National Assembly and representatives of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).

Nigeria’s participation underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to positioning the country’s vast solid mineral resources as a catalyst for economic diversification, job creation, sustainable development and foreign investment, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Administration of H.E. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

The Nigerian delegation will use the opportunity to engage global mining companies, investors, financial institutions and industry stakeholders, with a view to attracting responsible investment, technology and expertise into Nigeria’s solid minerals sector.

Nigeria is open for business. Nigeria’s minerals are ready for investment.
