Appointments for capturing of biometric data are given Tuesdays -Thursdays  from 10 am -12pm and 1pm-14pm .

Please note that you will have to email nhc.passport@gmail.com after filling out the online application form to obtain an appointment for capture as the automated date given is not valid for Canberra, Australia. Please indicate that you are after a change of name/change of data in the email.

Applicants with no online payment and appointment given by Nigeria High Commission, Canberra, will not be attended to.

What to bring with you to Canberra once you have an appointment confirmed for Change of Name (married women)

A formal application letter, signed and dated, giving reasons for re-issue/issuance of e-passport, addressed to the High Commissioner, Nigeria High Commission, Canberra Australia and marked ‘Attention: Consular Section’
Expiring / Old passport
Photocopy of data page of old passport
Completed on-line application form: https://portal.immigration.gov.ng/passport/changeDetails
On-line payment slip (payment made online in local currency (Naira)
Duly completed guarantor’s form endorsed by a Justice of Peace (JP) or other persons who can certify legal documents. This is mandatory for all  Fresh applicants. https://portal.immigration.gov.ng/passport/PassportGuarantor

This form must be filled out by a Nigerian over the age of 18 who holds a Nigerian passport and Nigerian national ID or Driver’s license either Australian or Nigerian.

Marriage Certificate
Change of Name Certificate
Sworn court affidavit of change of name
Letter of consent from husband for the change of name
Photocopy of data page of husband’s passport
Nigerian newspaper publication of change of name for marriages contracted in Nigeria
2 Data Forms (attached) for  completion on arrival  at the Mission Canberra
